Representative Ken Gordon joined his colleagues in the House of Representatives in passing a $61.47 billion Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) budget proposal. The budget includes local funding for the towns in the 21st Middlesex District and critical investment in education, transportation, health care, housing, and workforce development.
“I am grateful and proud that this budget includes funding to directly support the Bedford and Burlington community” said Representative Gordon (D-Bedford). “Furthermore, this budget makes important investments in education and beyond that will allow us to continue to meet the needs of our residents amid uncertainty from the federal government.”
Representative Gordon secured direct funding for the towns and organizations that serve his communities, including:
- $200,000 to assist the Town of Bedford for the education of students from families living on Hanscom AFB who attend Shawsheen Valley Technical High School.
- $200,000 to the Town of Burlington to replace aging asphalt walkways on the Town Common with updated ADA-compliant concrete walkways.
- $517,000 for the education of students from families living on Hanscom AFB.
- $150,000 for the Boston MedFlight Program operating at Hanscom AFB.
- $250,000 to support remote patient monitoring through Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to support primary care delivery.
Additionally, this budget includes funding for education filed by Rep. Ken Gordon, including:
- $10,500,000 to the DESE-DDS Residential Prevention Program for the support of residential facilities for students aged 6-21 with special education needs.
- $875,000 to the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Mobile Museum of Tolerance Bus to serve students, teachers, law enforcement agencies, faith leaders, government leaders and others through bringing the museum field trip directly to the communities and designed to prevent bullying, racism, antisemitism, hate and intolerance and to encourage respect for human dignity.
